For Carter, an alpha professor of omega studies, life comes crumbling down when two officers show up at his work with horrible news and three young children in tow. His widowed brother Joey was killed in a car accident, leaving his kids orphans. Carter immediately agrees to take them in, quickly realizing he’s in way over his head. He needs help—he needs Manny’s Mannies.

Omega Beckham was on track to become his family’s first lawyer—until his grandfather became ill and he dropped out to take care of him in his dying days. He took on a new, more feasible goal of becoming a nurse and started working as a TA. But then his employer gets arrested and he comes home to an eviction notice and discovers his roommate was stealing the rent money. Jobless and homeless, he needs a solution and fast—he needs Manny’s Mannies.

When Carter opens the door to greet his new manny, he’s shocked to see his one-night stand from years earlier—the one he could never forget. If the kids didn’t immediately love Beckham, Carter might’ve asked for a replacement. Now he has to repress his longing for the manny he once spent a magical night with.

If only it were that easy.

Author's Note: The Professor’s Omega Manny features an alpha who’s in over his head, an omega who flips his world on its head, three adorable children who have faced an unbearable loss, and the house renovation that does not end.

Book Review

The third story about Mr. Manny – and the mannies he supplies to customers needing a little help with their children for a variety of reasons – is just as cute and sweet as the first two. This time Carter, an alpha who is a professor of omega studies, needs help with the three children his widowed brother leaves behind after an accident. Beckham (Beck) is the one Manny selects for Carter: an omega who needs a new job, a new home, and some stability in his life. To add some spice to the situation, these two men have met before – during a one-night stand neither of them has been able to forget. So the attraction is as immediate as it is impossible since Beck works for Carter and both men intend to keep their relationship purely professional.

Carter is a rare alpha not because he is a professor but because he teaches omega studies. He is convinced omegas deserve equal rights and equal pay (sound familiar?) and not everyone in this world agrees. In fact one of his colleagues recently got caught for sexual harassment and sleeping with underage students, so the university is in a bit of an uproar. Adding three young children (all under five) to his life is not easy, especially since Carter has no idea how to take care of them and keep them safe. Finding a manny is a must, but when he sees Beck on his doorstep, his life becomes even more complicated.

Beck has not had much luck with his family, despite dropping everything when his grandfather got ill so he could take care of him. His parents are mad that he is not becoming a lawyer, and I shook my head more than once at their stupidity. Beck has chosen a new career path, works hard to become a nurse, but bad luck keeps following him around. He loses his job when the professor he worked for gets arrested for sexual harassment and his roommate turns out to have stolen the rent money so Beck is threatened with eviction. The ad from Manny’s Mannies comes just in time, and since Beck has siblings and experience taking care of them, he figures he can do the job.

I loved the adorable kids who need all the love Beck and Carter can give them after losing their dad, lots of cute moments as Beck begins to make sure his new family has everything they need, and a sizzling underlying attraction that Beck and Carter find very difficult to fight. Not that their resistance amounts to anything much… But navigating the boundaries they set for themselves while falling in love is not an easy job and leads to much frustration. Both men take it with a grain of salt though, so it ended up being a very entertaining tale.

If you like romances where one-night stands need to figure out a “new normal” when they run into each other years later and under very different circumstances, if you think that a professor and a student becoming a nurse are a good match, and if you’re looking for a sweet read with lots of emotions, three amazing kids and all the mayhem they can create, and a very happy ending, then you will probably like this novella. I definitely look forward to the next volume in this series!
