Owen was born into a Were family, and like those before him, he is expected to turn on the full moon of his twenty-first birthday. And there are especially high expectations concerning Owen’s shift from boy to wolf, given that his birthday falls on the night of the full moon itself.

But when the full moon rises on that fated night, nothing happens. While others around him change, he stays the same, forced to run for his life from the angry pack. Needless to say, Owen is a disappointment to his family.

But then a mysterious and sexy stranger with wickedly tempting eyes comes to stay at Owen’s mother’s boarding house, a stranger regarded as suspicious by the clan, who apparently knows that there is far more to Owen than his failure to shift...

Book Review

I enjoy the combined writing talents of A.J. Llewellyn and D.J. Manly. The fact that 'Temptation Eyes' is a shifter story grasped my interest immediately, of course. *grins* I like stories that are out of the norm and the idea that a were's first transformation would not occur until his twenty-first birthday interested me as it's not an aspect of the world building I've seen previously.

Owen was his father's "great white hope" and when he didn't change on the night of his birthday, the night of the full moon, his father had a heart attack and died. Because he can't shift, Owen isn't really a member of the pack, and everything in his life changes. The alpha allows him to stay alive out of respect for his father, but it is as a spy for the pack and his whole life now belongs to the alpha, his uncle Frank. One night a boarder for Owen's mother's home arrives, Sloane November, a sexy and very mysterious man. When Owen's curiosity gets him caught, his life lies in the hands of this alluring and secretive man.

And, oh boy, what a fascinating tale Sloane tells Owen. A story that goes back over twenty years, of betrayal, jealousy, deceit, murder, and revenge. Sloane has the answer as to why Owen didn't change on his birthday, and the answer terrifies Owen. Everything that Owen has known and believed about his life, his family, his pack, and even his own mother, has been a lie and he is left floundering in shock.

This was a very unique and different type of story. There were some parts that left me feeling a little confused, but I thought the world building was unusual and the love story was sweet. Thank you, A.J and D.J., for something pretty original.
