Lornyc is good at keeping secrets, because secrets can get you killed.

Lornyc's forbidden relationship with Methian, heir to Xenetra, has caused him enough grief. Ripped from his life as a student to fulfil a magical contract as punishment for his family's past, he now has to play valet to Methian for ten years. It'll be hell on their already strained relationship.

And with his city of Katraman under attack, Lornyc needs to connect to the powers he’s been hiding. If he can’t master his powers and find the leader of the plot, he could lose everything he knows and loves: his family, his future as High Lord, and Methian.

Book Review

When I read the blurb for Servitude, I thought, "Oh cool! This sounds like a fascinating story." Little did I know that it would turn out to be so much more! I found myself hooked from the very first page, and the combination of magic, conspiracies, treason, power plays, evil plots, greed, and hidden evil made this a book that I had to pry myself away from in order to take care of things in real life.

Lornyc Reagalos is an intelligent man who loves his life as a student, working on his thesis, and doing his best to avoid the politics involved in his role as the future High Lord of Katraman. He's had a passionate, if hidden, relationship with Methian Hadral, heir to the throne of Xenetra, for the past three years. I can just imagine the horror, confusion, anger, and sheer chaos that his life becomes because of what his grandfather Romanus Reagalos, a very powerful magic user, did to appease the victim of his impetuous temper. Unknown to anyone, Romanus signed a secret contract that gives his future grandson as a valet to the future heir of Xenetra—namely Methian! Between fulfilling the contract to Methian, and another contract to unleash the latent magic powers that Lornyc doesn’t know he possesses, maneuvering his way through the strain of playing a servant to his lover, and trying to find out who's behind the assassination of his parents, plus foil their plans to take over his city, Lornyc's future may be anything but assured!

Methian Hadral is the happy-go-lucky heir to his father's throne. He and Lornyc have been secret lovers for the past three years, and he uses his reputation as a wild playboy to hide the relationship. His mother has been hounding him for years to find a suitable woman to marry, and to provide a grandchild to be his heir. He's horrified to learn his lover has been sentenced to serve as his valet for ten years, and does his best to hide who Lornyc is from his family. This puts a major strain on their relationship as they try to overcome the awkwardness of having to redefine how they relate to each other. Methian must dig deep into his soul to find the strength to help Lornyc navigate the minefield of political intrigue and betrayal, survive numerous attempts to take control of Lornyc's newfound magical powers, and not let others tear apart the relationship he and Lornyc fought so hard to keep intact.

I was utterly enthralled with this book, and you will probably like this novel if you're looking for a tale that pulls you in from the very beginning with a richly detailed world full of magic, political intrigue, other dimensions, power hungry villains, and two men who passionately love each other despite all attempts to tear them apart.
