Book Blurb

As a teenager, Dalton Jakoby made Tank an offer—one Tank turned down gently. It was still embarrassing as hell, so when Tank returns to the Jakoby Rodeo Company after a big-time bull riding tour, Dalton decides polite but distant is the best course of action.

Tank is hurting from some tough injuries and ready for a lighter workload. He’s also ready to admit Dalton is an adult now, one he wants to get to know much better. While Dalton’s past makes him suspicious of Tank’s attention, he can’t stay standoffish for long… not with Tank.

The new romance burns hot, but problems inside and outside the arena threaten what Tank and Dalton might have together.

Book Review

Cowboys! Need I say more? And this bunch is especially hot, funny, competitive, loyal to their friends, and no BS allowed. The Jakoby Rodeo Company is not just a family outfit but also special in other ways: like the title promises, it is rainbow friendly. Of course there are issues, especially when bigoted outsiders try to be nasty, but with a pretty tight, if somewhat crazy, group of family members at its center, it is basically safe. The two main characters have history, but not one that ended well the last time round. So when Tank returns years after he had to turn down sixteen-year-old Dalton when he was twenty-one, it is time for a new beginning.

Dalton is a bull rider who works in the family company, and he loves his life. He had a crush on bullfighter Tank when he was fifteen, and it turns out he is still hot for the man now that he is all grown up. Despite the niggling from his twin brother and his other siblings, who all seem to know about the attraction he feels, Dalton is determined to make things work this time. But it isn’t easy – not everywhere they go is rainbow friendly, building a relationship that lasts longer then a night is tough, and Dalton’s ex turns out to be a lot creepier than anyone expected.

Tank felt he had to leave to avoid any issues with Dalton and his family, and ended up working for a bigger outfit. But he is not getting any younger, so he negotiates an end to his contract and returns to the Jakobys. As easy as it is to fit back in with them, his previous employer is not one to just let him go, there is an ex who has different ideas than Tank, and he has a very hard time regaining his freedom. And with his pride not allowing him to ask for help, things almost get totally out of hand…

The details of cowboy life fill the pages just as much as the budding romance between Dalton and Tank. The family dynamics add a lot of color, as do the many events, victories and defeats in the arena, and lifelong friendships between men and women dedicated to the rodeo. The dangers of injuries are just as present as the rewards when all goes well, and from the food to the way these guys talk, the story felt entirely authentic to me. I wished I could dive right in and participate more than once!

If you like cowboys and the adventures they get up to, various twists and turns included, if you think two men meant for each other deserve a second chance when the timing is right, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read that will make you laugh, cry, and totally immerse you in a different world, then you will probably like this novel.
