Book Blurb

Lost in a post-apocalyptic world where water is scarce, Bryan is desperate to quench his thirst in more ways than one. When an old friend suddenly reappears, Bryan realizes there is hope for the future.

Old memories of a once lush world help to ignite long buried emotions. Can love survive in this dry harsh world?

Book Review

More of a snapshot than a story, ‘Quench’ is a brief peek into a future where most people have died in a pandemic, the environment has been pretty much destroyed, and water is no longer freely available. The focus of this short snippet is one survivor who struggles with his loneliness as much as how to survive the drought. Bryan has pretty much given up on ever seeing another human again when his friend from across the road reappears and they need to figure out how to relate to each other in a world without much hope for the future.

If you like speculation about what a postapocalyptic future might look like, if you think two lonely men deserve a break, and if you’re looking for a short read that is as harsh as it is hopeful, then you might like this short story.
