Book Blurb

Planet Earth is failing. Global warfare and asteroid bombardment have left the planet devastated… perhaps beyond repair. Now a small group of terra-formers have just seven years to rebuild Earth's ecosystems. Failure means exclusion from the Federation; without the Federation's assistance Earth is condemned to death.

Adam, an Earth biologist, and Evan, a scientist from the Mars Colony, find it impossible to resist the passion that draws them together despite prejudices and mutual mistrust. When a new asteroid strike leaves them stranded - with Earth's hope for the future resting on their shoulders –- they find themselves fighting for their lives and the life of an entire planet.

A science fiction thriller and a tender love story, Paradise Earth is an epic story of apocalypse and rebirth.

Publisher's Note: Paradise Earth (Box Set) contains the previously published shorts Adam and Evan, Revelations, and Apocalypse.

Book Review

As science fiction goes, this story is definitely “way out there” with a postapocalyptic touch and some religious/mythological inferences that make it a very unusual tale. There are Adam and Evan who live on Paradise Island, Abe and Cabel who plan to conquer what is left of the Earth, and a whole host of newly created creatures intended to take over from the almost-extinct humans. But as interesting as the worldbuilding is, I missed some of the scientific detail I would have loved to know more about. Be that as it may, the characters are unusual, the storyline intriguing, and the surprises as to what will happen next just keep coming.

Adam is a human biologist in charge of restoring the Earth’s biosphere after global warfare and an asteroid have pretty much destroyed all life. Evan is a nonhuman scientist from Mars with a few secrets who has been recruited to help. Between the two of them they are finding their efforts sabotaged by mysterious forces and have an even bigger fight ahead of them when a second asteroid strikes and cuts them off from the Federation Earth was trying to join.

Without giving too many details I can only say this is a suspenseful story, made up of three short novellas. I liked being able to read one after the other in this collection. There is some intrigue, but also a great love story and the mix worked well. Just be ready to suspend your disbelief!

If you like creative stories with lots of twists and turns, if postapocalyptic settings with an element of alien interference is your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that boggles the mind more than once but has a sweet touch, then you might like this collection of somewhat fantastical stories.
