Book Review

I really needed a feel-good read tonight. I needed something that reminded me that life goes on and love will always win. I found it in BA Tortuga's new series 'Two Is Never Enough'. I love shifter stories and the description - particularly of these two wolf shifters rescuing wolf puppies - just made me say "awww". That's what I needed tonight. Seeing as I'm always a big fan of this author's world building I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Jock and Gus are living in the wilderness of the Colorado mountains when they run across a female wolf dead in a trap. As they begin to bury her they hear her three female pups and can't help their instinct to protect and love them. I fell in love with both men right then and there. It got even better when Archer, a forest ranger, stumbles upon them and Jock says “We’re, like, totally legal and all. Pinky swear. Nice to meet you.”  Yes. Can you see it in your head? I totally could. Two young guys, skinny, kicked out of their pack for being bachelor males, trying to hide wolf cubs in their tent. Heart melting.

"The connection between them glowed, and the cubs adored them. Gus was fierce, protective, and Jock just wanted approval."

Archer is an alpha who was kicked out of his brother's pack for being gay. He wants both Gus and Jock, but Gus is understandably nervous as large alpha males never want bachelor males around. However, as Archer reminds him, he has no pack of women and children to worry about. It's been so long since these men felt the bonds of a pack and Archer wants that with them so badly.

I enjoyed this book very much but I'm definitely going to be looking for more. I'm still trying to understand the world the author built as there are hints to it but nothing definitive. Which I love, by the way. Jock and Gus are adorable and Archer was the perfect alpha male. I really liked the way the author wrote a lot of the scenes where their wolf instincts were more in the forefront as it made it so believable. If you like hot threesomes with a lot of wolfiness and some seriously cute puppies then this is a must-read for you.
