Book Blurb

Levi’s family knows he needs to find a way out of his funk and be a part of the world again. His brother, Jesse, invites Levi to join him in sunny Spain for the holidays, but a delay at the airport finds Levi at Jesse’s home while his brother is stranded in Scotland. Luckily Alejandro—Alex—is on hand with a key, a friendly smile, and a willingness to keep Levi company. He might even manage to draw Levi out of his shell for some mutual flirting.

Levi surprises himself when he accepts an invitation to spend New Year’s Eve with Alex at Alex’s café, but is he ready for more when it means jumping back into life feetfirst? Besides, with an ocean between them and Alex hiding a part of his life that Levi isn’t sure he can handle, they’ll need their own Three Kings’ Day miracle to stay together.

Book Review

A change of venue is a good way to come out of a funk, as Levi finds out when he agrees to visit his brother, Jesse, in Spain for New Year’s Eve. Except it isn’t Jesse who turns out to be the biggest help – it is Jesse’s friend who comes to the rescue. This story is full of the unexpected for Levi, from the people to the customs, and the result just goes to show that breaking a routine can be an ideal way to find a new start.

Levi feels guilty for something nobody else blames him for, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has been depressed for a year. Sunshine for New Year’s Eve is just what the doctor (or in this case, Levi’s brother) ordered, and Levi is surprised how different everything feels in a new environment. But the biggest surprise is Jesse’s friend, Alex, who owns a café and makes it his personal mission to show Levi a good time.

If you like stories about different customs for a major holiday like New Year’s, if you’re curious about the way people in Spain celebrate Three King’s Day, and if you’re looking for an entertaining story filled with charming details about sunshine and a new beginning, then you will probably like this novella.
