Book Blurb

Hot summer rain. That was the scent that drew me. The soulful amber-green eyes that begged to be loved kept me. One look and I knew I wanted Lany Harris to be mine. Convincing him of my good intentions might prove to be harder than trying to convince my superiors that someone was out to get us.

I was obviously insane.

Cinnamon and whiskey had a delicious scent and it was S.W.A.T. commander, Lt. Salvador Delvecchio. I wanted to roll in that scent, sink into it, and never come out. I wanted to be consumed by everything that was the lethal man who had rescued me and decided I belonged to him.

I was a hot mess.

Book Review

I'm always so excited to get my grubby little fingers on a new release from Stormy Glenn. She really knows how to tell a story and there's always plenty of excitement, intrigue, hot men, scorching sex, and a great happy ever after. Sometimes that's really all I need in a book and I usually like to come to this author for it… although sometimes I have to fight my friend for these books. *grins*

Lancaster Harris III, Lany, is definitely one of the best characters this author has written. He's little but he can be fierce, and he seems to attract trouble no matter where he is or what he's doing. He honestly has no clue why it always happens to him. He doesn't seem to understand how adorable and beautiful he is. He loves to people watch, although his family is always urging him to get a life. He has a life. It's just not a very interesting one. Not until he meets Lt. Salvador Delvecchio who saves him from a beat down.

Lany and Sal's first meeting is truly memorable. I spilled my water laughing, especially when Sal finds out that Lany is the personal assistant to the police commissioner, Lany's Uncle Jerry. Since Sal is in SWAT he might have to rethink his approach to the man he's decided will be his. It was also kind of sad and bittersweet to see how poorly Lany thought of himself. Sal definitely has his work cut out for him. "I’d soak up every last second of Sal’s attention and then grieve when it was over. But for a brief moment, I was wanted."

Lany comes from old family wealth and his family is rather overprotective, although after learning more about Lany, I could understand why. He is equal parts surprised and irritated that Sal has decided the job of being Lany's keeper now falls to him. Lany doesn't understand why everyone always says he needs one. He's an adult who manages perfectly fine. Just don't ask him about the twelve cars he's gone through since he was sixteen and why his license was taken away.

Oh my freaking goddess! A hell of a start to a new series. Seriously! Sal is the alpha male, dominant, loving, caring guy that everyone dreams of and Lany is adorable, innocent, and sweet beyond words. The drama at the end was very well done and had me on the edge of my seat. I'm going to have to beg, Stormy, for you to write faster on any more books in this series. Thank you for this action-packed, sexy, marvelous read!
