Book Review

In this sequel to ‘Love with a Bite’, where deer shifter Jason and vampire detective Drew first meet and get together, Jason and Drew face a challenge of a different kind. That of coupledom and an impending wedding, and with all the complications an interspecies pairing can bring, that should be enough of a challenge. However, fate has other ideas and throws a few more obstacles their way in the form of a baffling case.

Jason may be a crime lab technician, but he can and will work with Drew if the case warrants it. And this one, with vampires being killed by unidentified means, has Jason more scared for Drew than any other. After all, the murderer has sworn to rid the city of vamps, and Drew is one of them. While Jason is still trying to get used to the idea he is about to get married to the love of his life, he also has to fight his fear so Drew can do his job.

Drew is totally in love with Jason, never mind that vampires are not supposed to fall in love. His proposal has gone well, and all he wants to do is claim Jason in every way possible, but the interference of the mysterious vampire murderer stops him from doing what he wants. Drew is pissed off, and more determined than ever to catch whoever is doing this. The beast inside him is even more resolute that nothing and no one will come between Drew and Jason.

If you like unusual interspecies couples of the paranormal variety, if evil criminals getting caught by clever detectives and their helpers are your thing, and if you're looking for a read that is as action-packed and suspenseful as it is sweet and hot, then you will probably like this novella.
