One house, three couples, and one year left until their final exams….

Evan and Daniel want to take their D/s relationship to the next level. When Daniel suggests conducting a little research at a BDSM club, Evan is more than up for it. Trouble is, one of their housemates isn’t happy about this.

Finances tighten for new couple Josh and Chris. Wanting to ease some of the pressure on Chris, Josh starts as an agency nurse. But tackling a heavy workload at medical school and working late-shifts leaves little time for the couple. Something’s gotta give.

In Spain, Sean was diagnosed as suffering from migraines. But after the medications have no effect and he starts suffering from other complaints, he decides to get a second opinion without telling Michael. When Michael finds out, Sean's usually laid-back husband's reaction shocks everyone. But Michael needs to get his head sorted fast, because Sean needs his strength.

As their school career comes to a close and the one person who holds them all together starts to fall apart, the final exam is a true test of friendship.

Book Review

I had a sneaking suspicion at the end of the previous book that I hadn't seen the last of these young men in K.C. Wells's series 'Learning to Love'. In 'Final Exam' the guys are on their last year at university. A lot has happened in the previous years with Michael and Sean meeting, falling in love, dealing with hate, and getting married. Evan and Daniel fell in love, and dealt with abusive childhood trauma, while keeping their love strong and marrying. And Josh and Chris handled Chris's pain of coming out, and the trial against his former friends, plus the upheaval with Josh's ex, all while falling in love and getting their happy ever after. It's a wonder these young men ever get to class! I'm grateful to the author for this final year and a chance to say good-bye.

Michael and Sean are home after their year abroad in the south of Spain, with only minimal visits home. The family is back together and everything is perfect. Except that Sean's migraines aren't getting better and the medicine isn't working. Josh isn't comfortable with Evan and Daniel's foray into the BDSM culture, for obvious reasons considering what his ex did. The other five guys are perfectly happy to split some of the food bills, etc. between them so Josh doesn't have to work shifts at night, but Josh is supremely stubborn. Daniel, Evan, Josh, and Chris join Michael in worrying about Sean's health, especially as new developments crop up. Chris and Josh finally hash out a few things including Chris insisting Josh speak with Daniel and Evan regarding his concerns.

I found it absurdly adorable that the BDSM club Daniel and Evan visit is Collars & Cuffs, from the author's series by the same name. It was great to see some of my favorite and very familiar faces. I liked the way the author showed each couple struggling with their issues, while, simultaneously, being worried and concerned over the others. All six of these men are remarkably mature, caring, compassionate, and passionate people. They have, literally, created a family and it really showed in this final book with all the issues arising. There were a lot of emotional moments throughout this book, but there was also laughter, and a healthy dose of lust.

I was very impressed with this final book. I know, for a fact, that when I was their age, I never could've handled all the things life threw at these men with their aplomb. I'm not telling spoilers, you'll have to read the book. I can tell you that the doctors represented in this book didn't seem to have the God-complexes of the ones I've met. *grins* And I can tell you that I will miss these amazing men and I'm so very glad I got the opportunity to experience their stories.
