Whereas the two previous books in this series, ‘The Lightning-Struck Heart’ and ‘A Destiny of Dragons’, shared very strong similarities to exceptional films—i.e., ‘The Princess Bride’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ (with way more laughter and gay sex) respectively—'Consumption of Magic’ has gone much farther and entered a realm more alike to ‘Star Wars’, in my opinion.

A peck of pickles, apparently (and I admit that I had to look this one up) is “…an imperial and US customary unit of dry volume equivalent to 2 gallons…” – so, a lot. I can’t even imagine having to pickle that many cucumbers, but Linc is a farmer, and fairly used to large quantities.

This is an amazing book, one of those where the blurb doesn't really do the story enough justice. But then, I think that would be difficult because there are so many layers to this story that it's almost impossible to convey in a short summary.

When young people fall in love, older people tell them that it's just “puppy love”, an infatuation that will fade with time; but that's not always the case.

With a couple that is in many ways as unlikely to match as Jesse and Tomas in the first book of this series, the characters, dynamics, and issues are still very different.

It has been two months since Jake’s siblings, Adrien, Andrew, and Sarah, were taken, along with a lot of other omegas, by a ruthless pack of dragons.

Workplace romances are usually not a good idea, but when the attraction is strong enough that it lasts for two years – well, sometimes an exception has to be made. But Scott and Brent have barely started even acknowledging their attraction, when a horrific accident causes Scott to lose his hearing.

Shane and Galen’s relationship, as passionate as it was from the start and as loving as it has become, has never been easy. Hence the very fitting series title ‘Stormy Weather’ and the increasingly “stormy” book titles, with ‘Hurricane’ the most dangerous one yet.

After enjoying the first book in this cross-over series from ‘Mercy Hills Pack’, I was interested to see if any of my thoughts and possible pairings were going to come true in this second installment.
